Scott W. Machnik joined Marlowe McNabb & Stayton as an associate on May 27, 2008.
He received his B. A. from the University of Florida in 2001 and graduated With Honors
from Stetson University College of Law in 2007. He is a member of the Florida Bar and
the Construction Law Section and Young Lawyers’ Division of the Hillsborough County Bar
Association.
Academic achievements include receiving the Victor O. Wehle Trial Advocacy
Award for attaining the highest grade in his Trial Advocacy class. He also attained
the highest grades in a Law, Literature and Film Seminar based on a 25-page paper on the
efficacy of Florida’s relatively new Judicial Waiver of Parental Notification of Pregnancy
proceedings and John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath, entitled Seedless Grapes; and in an
Alternative Dispute Resolution class which featured role-playing with clients and practice
in handling a case through negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. He was a member of Stetson Advanced
Trial Competition Planning Committee; a member of Stetson’s Law & Order Society; and a competitor at
ATLA Trial Competition. Scott was a student volunteer for the 13th Judicial Circuit Office of the
State Attorney, Juvenile Division; clerked with the Law Offices of Cynthia Sass, P. A.; and served a
judicial internship with the Hillsborough County State Court Judicial Internship Program.
Scott’s practice focuses on Construction Law and Litigation.
