Brian Stayton joined Marlowe & McNabb on April 18, 2005. Prior to joining our firm, he was a member of the Construction Practice Group at Carlton Fields, from 1999 through 2004. Brian was a member of his own law firm for one year before joining Marlowe & McNabb. He also practiced construction law for ten years with two large law firms in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Brian assists clients in all phases of the construction process, including document preparation, lien advice, claims preparation, and litigation. He brings extensive experience in litigating issues relating to the improper design and construction of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and projects.
Brian is a member of the Construction Law Committees of The Florida Bar and the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Construction Industry. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and in the U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Brian is a frequent lecturer and contributing author on construction topics.
Brian graduated from the University of Kansas, with highest distinction, in 1986. He graduated from Duke University in 1989, with a M.A. degree in history and his J.D. degree. He received the First Prize Award of Achievement for Service to the Public, by the Young Lawyers Division of American Bar Association through the American Bar Endowment in 1995, and Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year by the Kansas Bar Association 1998. Brian is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
